Yesterday was the second day in a row that Harrisburg International Airport reached at least 80 degrees. The official high was 84 degrees besting the old record of 82 degrees set back in 1908. Today will be the third straight day with highs in the 80s and near record warmth is on the table again this afternoon. A weak front will add some cloud cover to the region today. It’s unlikely that this front will bring much in the way of shower activity, but a brief sprinkle can’t be ruled out today with a mix of sun and clouds. All-in-all it should be another pleasant and warm mid October day. Tonight will stay mild with showers developing as a warm front lifts toward the Commonwealth.
Thursday remains warm as that warm front lifts over the area to bring occasional showers. There will be plenty of dry periods throughout Thursday, however. Friday brings a better chance for some steady rain as a strong cold front pushes through. Once the front clears, gusty winds arrive for Friday night football. Much of Saturday will be blustery too with afternoon temperatures only in the 50s! There will be periods of cloudiness on Saturday with gusty winds continuing through much of the day. Sunday will not be as windy, but expect a steady breeze with more sunshine.
