Family escapes house fire in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Crews responded to a morning fire in the city.

Flames broke out around 6 a.m. Wednesday at a home along the 600 block of Geary Street.

Two units in the row of homes are abandoned.

A family living next to the ones that caught fire were able to escape. There were a total of seven people living there, three adults and four children.

A firefighter had to be treated for burns to his hands.

It’s unclear what may have started the fire.
