Oil spill reaches Susquehanna River in Millersburg

MILLERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Authorities say about 1,000 gallons of oil spilled into the Susquehanna River and a nearby creek after a leak at a Millersburg tool manufacturer.

The spill occurred at the Alvord-Polk tool company sometime over the weekend and wasn’t noticed until Monday morning. The company notified authorities immediately.

Several fire departments and a hazardous materials crew are on the scene and working to contain the spill. They said the cleanup could take a day to finish.
