Distraction burglary reported in Greencastle

GREENCASTLE, Pa. (WHTM) – State police are investigating after they say an 80-year-old man was the victim of a distraction-style burglary in Franklin County.

It happened in September at a residence in the 3500 block of Buchanan Trail West in Greencastle.

Police said a man pretending to survey the property asked the homeowner for help.

The man then began using his cell phone. During that time, another person gained access into the home, taking cash, jewelry, and five guns.

Anyone with information is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg at 717-264-5161.
