High school student raising money for kids this holiday season

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A local high school student is raising money to help make the holiday season a bright one for kids.

Isaiah Owens, a senior at Bishop McDevitt high school organized a pig roast this weekend at Veteran’s Park in Susquehanna Township. He’s hoping yesterday’s event raised enough money to buy 10,000 toys for Toys for Tots.

“It’s just a blessing to know that you’re healthy, or fortunate to have a Christmas. It’s just a blessing,” Owens said.

The fundraiser raised just over $1,000 to help kids this holiday season.
