LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) – A former Lebanon Catholic School teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.
Jesus Omar Sandoval, 27, taught Spanish and coached girls varsity soccer. He is charged with statutory sexual assault, intercourse/sexual contact with a student, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor, and indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age.
In a letter posted to Lebanon Catholic Schools website, Principal Rose Kury said authorities began investigating Sandoval for unlawful contact with a minor earlier this year, but she said the school only learned of the investigation Sept. 12. Sandoval was immediately placed on administrative leave pending the investigation.
“A faculty member of a Catholic school is held to the highest standards of personal conduct,” Kury said. “Diocesan policy notes that actions which are criminal in nature or are deemed a risk to student safety will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.”
