HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Rep. Mike Sturla is the Democratic candidate for the 96th state House district, which includes the City of Lancaster and parts of Lancaster and Manheim townships.
ABC27 News is making free airtime available to candidates. The following is the full-text of Sturla’s statement:
“I’m Lancaster state Representative Mike Sturla.
As a former small businessman, I created jobs, met a payroll, and produced a quality product. As your state representative, I help thousands of constituents every year and get results.
I’ve always called Lancaster home, and I’m dedicated to making it the best place it can be – to work, raise a family, play, and retire securely.
My children attended Lancaster’s public schools and graduated from McCaskey, and every year that I have been in office, Lancaster schools received funding increases above the state average.
I have worked to attract jobs and foster economic development that benefits the entire community and I’ve made sure there is job training.
I have worked with local governments to improve every school playground and park in the city.
In my leadership role in the legislature, I have worked across party lines to tackle issues like the opioid epidemic, transportation, and improved social services.
But I am not done yet. Now, more than ever, experience and dedication are what’s needed to get things done for Lancaster.
I’m Mike Sturla, and I’m asking for your vote on Tuesday, November 8.”
