Survivors gather at pink Capitol fountain

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — A group of cancer survivors and supporters gathered at the Pennsylvania State Capitol fountain on Monday.

The fountain, which has been dyed pink for the month of October, serves to raise awareness of breast cancer and other cancers, while inspiring those fighting the disease.

“We want to stand together, and kneel together in prayer, stand together in victory and just strive for a cure,” said Tara Peffley, who helped organize the event.

Peffley, owner of Life Lights photo booth rental company, was offering free pictures of victims next to the specially colored fountain. Other supporting vendors offered manicures and pink drinks. Those who attended were also offered health tips and breast check information.
