Pa. Breast Cancer Coalition announces news about 3D mammograms

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – The Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition held its annual conference on Monday and announced a major effort that will help women detect breast cancer early.

During the conference was at the Hilton Harrisburg, president and founder Pat Halpin-Murphy released a list of radiology practices that have purchased 3D mammogram machines.

3D mammogram machines are worth seeking out because, as ABC27 News reported two weeks ago, they detect cancer much earlier.

Last year, Pennsylvania became the first state in the nation to require that insurers cover 3D mammograms the same as regular mammograms.
