STEVENS, Pa. (WHTM) – A woman is in Lancaster County Prison after police say she was passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle while her two small children were with her.
Officers received a report the night of Sept. 13 that a woman was passed out behind the wheel at the Burger King parking lot in Ephrata.
A short time later, police say they found the vehicle in the parking lot of a bar in the 1000 block of North Reading Road.
Linette Roonan, a 35-year-old Lititz resident, was passed out in the driver’s seat with her foot on the brake, according to police. Her two small children were in the vehicle with her.
Officers determined Roonan was impaired and a blood test indicated she had high levels of amphetamine, methamphetamine and methadone in her system.
Roonan was charged with endangering the welfare of children and two counts of DUI.
She failed to post $25,000 bail and was remanded to prison.
The children were turned over to a responsible adult and the East Cocalico Township Police Department forwarded the case to Lancaster County Children and Youth.
