CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Chambersburg police departments K9’s are now protected by bullet-and-stab-proof vests.
K9’s Rownan & Basco received their safety vests courtesy of the non-profit group Vested Interest in K9’s Inc. The vests were sponsored by a fundraiser hosted by Tina Richardson, of Chambersburg.
Each of the vests is valued between $1,795 and $2,234 and are made by the Michigan-based company, Armor Express.
Vested Interest provides bullet-and-stab-proof vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement throughout the United States. It’s already provided more than 2,000 lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers in 50 states.
