Coatesville man pleads guilty in death of McCaskey basketball star

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A Chester County man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of former McCaskey High School basketball standout Anthony C. Hunter Jr.

Andre M. Shelton Jr., 28, of Coatesville, entered the plea Wednesday in Lancaster County Court. He will be sentenced after a background check, according to the district attorney’s office.

Hunter died at a hospital in December after authorities say he and Shelton were in a fight at the at the Lancaster Green Apartments in Lancaster Township. An autopsy found his death was caused by traumatic brain injuries.

Hunter was a basketball all-star before graduating from McCaskey in 2007.
