Police: Man pointed gun at driver during road rage incident

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Police say an Ephrata man was driving under the influence when he pointed a gun at a driver he nearly crashed into.

John W. McNeill, 37, is charged with simple assault and DUI following the September 26 road rage incident in East Lampeter Township.

According to a police report, McNeill was driving away from a Walmart when he nearly collided with a vehicle. McNeill then followed that vehicle onto the Route 30 bypass and pointed a silver handgun at the driver.

McNeill was pulled over by Manheim Township police on Oregon Pike just a short time later.

No one was hurt during the incident. Police said they recovered the gun McNeill displayed.

McNeill is in Lancaster County Prison.
