HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A city man is charged with attempted homicide after police say he stabbed a woman with scissors and a kitchen knife and struck her in the head with a hammer multiple times.
Larry W. Cathey, 60, is accused of assaulting the woman Friday night, city police said.
Officers were called to the first block of Balm Street and found the woman sitting in a hallway next to an apartment doorway. She was wearing a t-shirt covered in dried blood and had dried blood on her face, and she was weak from the loss of blood and was not able to walk due to her injuries, city police said in a news release.
The woman reported that Cathey attacked her during an argument. She was transported to Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
Investigators found Cathey lying in a bed and took him into custody without incident. A bloody hammer, knife, and scissors were found in the kitchen.
In addition to attempted homicide, he is charged with aggravated assault and unlawful restraint. He was placed in the Dauphin County Prison on $100,000 bail.
