The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Event of Harrisburg will take place on Saturday, October 15th on Harrisburg’s City Island. This 5K fundraising walk, will help the American Cancer Society provide support for everyone in our local community touched by breast cancer. The event also features a program for school aged kids called “Students for Strides,” where elementary school through college aged kids, youth groups, sports teams and clubs can form teams as part of this exciting program.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Harrisburg event is an incredible and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor and celebrate breast cancer survivors, raise awareness about the disease, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society save lives from breast cancer by funding groundbreaking breast cancer research, providing free comprehensive information and support, and helping people take steps to reduce their risk of the disease or find it early when it’s most treatable. It is a celebration of survivorship – an occasion to express hope and our shared determination to create a world that is free from breast cancer.
