Trump rallies voters in Lancaster County; arrives almost two hours late

MANHEIM, Pa. (WHTM) – Donald Trump promised lower taxes and more jobs at his campaign in Lancaster County Saturday night. But his arrival would come almost two hours late.

The energy in the room was as high as the hopes.

“I need to see the man,” Lori Whitmer, who came from Reading, said.

Some people waited several hours. But everyone would wait at least another hour and 45 minutes.

“It’s definitely worth the wait,” one supporter said.

Trump’s helicopter couldn’t land due to weather related issues.

“I’m just passing the time with word games,” Janet Baker, who came from Myerstown, said.

And she wasn’t the only one getting restless.

Until finally a hero’s welcome. Trump promised an end to illegal immigration, an end to illegal drugs, and an end to what he calls the “Clinton Corruption.”

“She’s an incompetent woman. And I’ve seen it. She’s an incompetent woman. Just take a look at what she touches. It never works out. And you watch. Her run for the presidency will never ever work out. Because we can’t let it work out,” Trump said.

He gave one more final promise.

“We are going to make America great again,” Trump said.

His final words were “get out and vote.” The last day to register is October 11th.
