Coroner: Man found dead in York home with self-inflicted gunshot wound


YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – A man found dead early Friday at a city home is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the York County coroner said.

Police were called just after 2 a.m. to the residence located in the 200 block of Chestnut Street. That’s where officers found 36-year-old Mickle Echevarria-Betancourt with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

According to coroner Pamela Gay, no one was home during the shooting and no foul play is suspected at this time.

An autopsy has been scheduled for 8 a.m. Saturday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
