Teen charged in brother’s death scheduled for arraignment

HARRISBURG, Pa (WHTM) – The teen police say murdered his older brother over a girl is scheduled to be formally arraigned Friday.

Dakota Thornton was 15 when police say he killed his 18-year-old brother Dominick in their Williamstown home. Officers said he confessed to the crime and admitted to having a crush on his brother’s girlfriend.

Thornton is charged with criminal homicide and will be tried as an adult. His attorney says he has a mental illness and a low IQ.

Thornton’s arraignment is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Dauphin County Courthouse.
