HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Two bridges that carry traffic over Route 283 in Dauphin County will be closed for repairs, starting next week.
According to a PennDOT, contractors will repair damages caused last May on the Union Street and Newberry Road bridge.
Union Street bridge in Lower Swatara Township will be closed beginning Monday.
Southbound traffic on Union Street will be detoured by way of Fulling Mill Road, Eisenhower Boulevard, and Route 283 East. Northbound traffic will be detoured by way of Route 283 East, Vine Street, and Route 283 West.
Once the Union Street bridge has reopened, contractors will make similar repairs to the Newberry Road bridge in Londonderry Township.
PennDOT expects repairs to both bridges to be completed by early December.
Overnight traffic restrictions will be announced in advance.
