Ex-officer found not guilty of attempted homicide in York Count

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – A former Baltimore police officer was found not guilty of attempted homicide in connection with a 2014 shooting in York County.

Police say John Torres, of York, was off duty when the shooting happened but was wearing his uniform.

Police say Torres shot David Hoffman, of Baltimore, several times in the Torso and arms near the York apartments on Brentwood Drive in York Township.

The incident started as a dispute between the men.

Torres, who served in the Baltimore Police Department for 12 years, was found guilty of aggravated assault.
