Man killed, teen injured in 2 York shootings

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – York police are investigating two separate shootings that left one man dead and a teenager injured.

Around 2:22 this morning, police were called to the 600 block of Heiges Alley where they found 18-year-old Erick Hernandez with a gunshot wound in his chest. Hernandez was rushed to York Hospital where police say he died of his injury.

Last night at around 9:30, police responded to a call at West Newton and South West Streets where a 17-year-old was shot in the back. An ambulance took the victim to York Hospital where he’s listed in serious condition.

Police are investigating and asking anyone with information to contact them at 717-846-1234.
