STATE COLLEGE, Pa (WHTM) – Following this past Saturday’s 34-27 win over Temple, Penn State officially announced Nyeem Wartman-White’s season is over following an apparent knee injury. This marks the second straight season he’ll miss due to injury, with last year’s injury also happening in the Temple game.
“I feel terrible for Nyeem,” were James Franklin’s first thoughts on the linebacker missing the remainder of the season, “Obviously it’s a position we’re thin at as is.”
In addition to Wartman-White, starting linebackers Jason Cabinda and Brandon Bell are battling injuries. The lack of depth creates more obstacles as the Nittany Lions travel to #4 Michigan this Saturday.
The Wolverines are averaging 53 points per game, a statistic that in the immediate future multiplies the problems for Penn State defensively. It’s also the first game the Nittany Lions will have played outside of Pennsylvania this year.
Penn State vs #4 Michigan can be seen at 3:30 PM Saturday on abc27.
