YORK HAVEN, Pa. (WHTM) – A York County woman is jailed after police say she abused her grandchildren by burning them with cigarettes.
Kelly L. Jacobs, 59, of Manchester, is accused of burning three boys when they were between the ages of 6 and 11 years old, according to charging documents.
One of the boys told Newberry Township police that Jacobs burned his left arm while he was at her house and he was 6 years old. He said Jacobs burned his brothers with a cigarette during the same incident, according to a criminal complaint.
Another boy said he was burned on the shoulder and the leg during separate incidents when he was 7 years old, and the third boy said he was 10 or 11 years old when Jacobs burned him on the wrist three different times, the complaint states.
Police allege the crimes occurred when Jacobs lived in York Haven.
Jacobs is charged with three counts each of endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, and harassment. She is in the York County Prison on $50,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 5.
