Blaze-damaged motorcycle shop credits firefighters for hard work

LEMOYNE, Pa. (WHTM) – Employees of Vicious Cycles spent the day cleaning soot off of choppers.

Aside from a few motorcycles, not much was left at the Hummel Avenue business after flames spread from a massive fire at a neighboring lumber yard Monday night.

000002The fire at the Lafferty and Company lumber yard spread to just one other business: Vicious Cycles.

Co-owner Scott Fisher showed ABC27 News the damage at the businesses he’s helped to run for more than a decade.

“From what the fireman said, [the fire] came from this back wall, up the roof, and went to the second floor,” he said.

Fisher said the fire tore through a storage room and service desk. He said he believes the place where he made a living is a total loss.

He credited firefighters for saving what they could.

“They did a wonderful job,” he said. “They mainly had a big truck sitting here and were pumping all the water, trying to save our building. The fire was so strong, there was nothing they could do.”

Fisher said they plan to rebuild, but he wasn’t sure how long that would take.
