Man charged for impersonating police officer

Daronte White (submitted)

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police say they charged a Dauphin County man who falsely claimed to be a police officer.

Daronte White, 23, reportedly identified himself as an officer on Aug. 20 as he tried to stop a vehicle from being towed at the Chestnut Pointe apartments on Chambers Hill Road, Swatara Township police said.

When that failed, White used his vehicle to block the tow truck from leaving the apartment complex.

He was charged this week with impersonating a public servant and disorderly conduct.
