LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Apple introduced its new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus Wednesday, and the phones are getting a lot of attention for what’s missing.
Monica Babyak and Allise Blackman enjoyed a warm latte at Square One Coffee in Lancaster Wednesday evening.
“I’ve had Apple since the first one,” Blackman said.
The two friends are loyal iPhone users.
“The water resistance is good because I’m the clumsiest person alive,” Blackman said.
“I can’t tell you how many times I’m scared of dropping my phone in the toilet and that being the end of it,” Babyak said.
Now they can worry a little less about that. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are water and dust resistant. They also don’t have a headphone jack.
“I workout a lot, so the wireless feature is probably going to make my life easier,” Blackman said. “It’s always bouncing around on me when I jog and stuff.”
“I have Bluetooth headphones for my iPhone now, so wireless is super important to me,” Babyak said. “Having wireless as a feature is just an awesome additive.”
iPhone users can get a jack adapter and use their old headphones or buy the new Apple AirPods. Those come with a price tag of $159.
“Now I’m regretting my recent upgrade,” Babyak said.
“I’m the kind of person who uses it until it dies, so by the time I get one, it’ll probably be even that much more amazing,” Blackman said.
The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be available in 25 countries on Friday, Sept. 16.
