$3.5M state grant to aid 3rd Street project in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A state grant of $3.5 million will be used to complete a redevelopment of the Third Street corridor and the renovation of four vacant and blighted Midtown buildings.

Gov. Tom Wolf and Sen. Rob Teplitz (D-Dauphin/Perry) on Wednesday announced the grant for the Third Street Revitalization Project.

The project, led by WCI Partners, includes four properties on Third Street between Boas and Union, including the former Moose Lodge that also was previously used as the Ronald Brown Charter School.

The buildings, which have been boarded up for nearly a decade, will be renovated for commercial and residential space.
