Woman says man bumped her car, then robbed her

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – A woman told police a masked man robbed her at gunpoint after bumping into her car.

The woman reported she was driving on Dew Drop Road in York Township on Sunday evening when an SUV struck her rear bumper several times near the intersection of Powder Mill Road.

She told York Area Regional police she got out of her car to check for damage. She said the SUV driver exchanged some words with her and motioned for her to pull across the street.

She did as he asked and was making a phone call when the other driver slipped on a mask and pointed a gun at her. She said she was robbed of her cash and cell phone.

York Area Regional police said if something like this happens to you, and your car is drivable, go to a well-populated and well-lit area to exchange information or call 911.

Anyone with information on the robbery should call the York Area Regional Police Department at 717-741-1259.
