HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police say a man tried to hide his identity during a traffic stop by giving officers his brother’s name instead, but they had a warrant for the brother’s arrest.
Rashawn Davis, 35, of Harrisburg, was on a motorcycle when Susquehanna Township police stopped him for a traffic violation last week in the area of 21st and Boas streets.
When the name he gave came back as having an active warrant, Davis was placed in a police car. A short time later, the officer found Davis tried to hide a bag of marijuana under the seat, police said.
Davis’s true identity was discovered and he was arrested for tampering with evidence, false ID to police, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension, and other traffic offenses.
His brother was taken into custody for the outstanding warrant.
