Rival teams support player battling cancer

MILLERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Rival football teams helped a student battling cancer.

Eric Erdman played for Millersburg Area High School’s football team. He is currently battling an aggressive brain tumor.

Last night, his teammates hosted a “gray out” at their game against Line Mountain. Organizers sold 900 t-shirts worn by coaches, players and fans. They also sold wrist bands reading “No One Fights Alone.”

“The family’s needs are financial, great financial needs. They are treating at MDA Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The treatment is proton radiation, which is a clinical trial, so it’s not paid for by insurance,” said Christi Moyer.

There is a GoFundMe account for Erdman and his family.
