Giant/Martin’s Issue Voluntary Recall of Diamond Nuts

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM)  – Giant Food Stores, LLC and Martin’s Food Markets are recalling Diamond Nuts due to potential Salmonella contamination.

The recall includes the following products:

Diamond Macadamia Halves & Pieces, 2.25 oz., UPC 7045074391 with lot numbers 16137D331S and 16159D331S and Best Before Dates of 16 NOV 2017 and 07 DEC 2017

Customers who have purchased this product should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to any GIANT/MARTIN’S for a full refund.

So far there have been no reports of any illnesses.

Consumption of food contaminated with Salmonella can cause salmonellosis, one of the most common bacterial foodborne illnesses.

The most common manifestations of salmonellosis are diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within eight to 72 hours. Additional symptoms may be chills, headache, nausea and vomiting that can last up to seven days.
