LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A Reading man charged with burglarizing churches and elementary schools in Berks County is facing additional charges for breaking into a church in Lancaster County.
Zachary A. May, 30, is charged with burglary and theft for a July 10 break-in at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Denver, according to District Attorney Craig Stedman’s office.
May is accused of taking about $30 cash and causing more than $4,600 in damage when he used a pry bar and screwdriver to open church doors and cabinets.
He was already jailed in the Berks County Prison for 11 other burglaries. Authorities said he’s possibly responsible for more burglaries and could face even more charges in both counties.
He has admitted to many of the crimes, authorities said.
