Suspected attacker misfires several times during robbery in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa — (WHTM) Police said an attempted robbery Friday turned into a man armed with a gun barricaded inside the McFarland building. Police said the suspected attacker tried to shoot his victim several times in the head, but the gun jammed.

Police arrested Israel Acevedo-Fuentes with an alias known as Juan Louis Acevedo, for slew of charges than include: Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Unlawful restraint, Escape, Terroristic Threats, and Disorderly Conduct.

Acevedo-Fuentes is suspected of sticking up a man inside the McFarland building off Mulberry St. around 3:35 p.m. Friday. When the man said he did not have anything to give, Acevedo-Fuentes punched and kicked him and put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger three times and jammed each time. The man was able to run away.

Acevedo-Fuentes then fled into a home along the 400 block of Hummel St. where he barricaded himself inside from officer for two hours.

Police noticed him peeking out a second-floor window and were able to tactfully go inside and take him into custody without incident. It was later discovered by officers Acevedo-Fuentes had a BB gun.
