Police: Mechanicsburg man died after wrong-way crash on Route 114

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A Cumberland County man died after a two-vehicle crash Friday morning on Route 114 in Silver Spring Township.

Rodney Morton, of Mechanicsburg, was a passenger in a Saturn Ion that was struck by a wrong-way driver, township police said. He died during transport to a hospital.

Investigators said a Lewistown woman, Brenda Aumiller, was driving a Dodge Dakota pickup truck when she collided head-on with the Saturn around 1 a.m. The crash occurred between Technology Drive and Old Willow Mill Road, a stretch of Route 114 separated by a guard rail.

Aumiller suffered a wrist injury. The driver of the Saturn, Roberto Cheodetti, was not injured, police said.

The crash closed Route 114 until 4:30 a.m.
