Woman’s death from 3,200-pound air conditioner ruled accidental

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – A coroner says a woman died of multiple blunt force trauma after a 3,200-pound commercial air conditioner fell on her at a Spring Garden Township plant.

Jennifer Wright’s death was ruled an accident after an autopsy Friday, according to York County Coroner Pam Gay’s office.

Wright, 37, of West York, was assisting in loading the air conditioning unit onto a trailer at Johnson Controls when the unit fell and landed on her Wednesday evening. She died at York Hospital.

Wright was a temporary employee at the plant on East Philadelphia Street.

The Occupational Safety and Heath Administration is investigating.
