LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) — On Wednesday, a man convicted of killing his girlfriend on the Millersville University campus will be sentenced.
A Lancaster County jury found Gregorio Orrostieta of Kennett Square guilty of third-degree murder in the killing of 18-year-old Karlie Hall.
Prosecutors say Orrostieta, who was not a student at Millersville University, admitted to beating and strangling Hall in her room in Bard Hall in February 2015.
According to officials, Orrostieta and Hall were at a party the night before her death. The two got into a fight and returned to Hall’s dorm room where the fight continued.
Police say Orrostieta told them he shoved Hall, causing her to fall and hit her head, then struck her in the face.
Authorities say they found him trying to administer CPR, but they allege his attempt was faked hours after Hall’s death.
Sentencing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Lancaster County Courthouse.
