UPDATE Police: Shooting injures teen, shots fired at officers


LANCASTER, Pa (WHTM) A boy ,13, is recovering in the hospital after being shot in the leg.

Lancaster City Police said the victim was found near Filbert Street. He is expected to recover.

A boy, 17, was arrested.

The victim told police that he was walking with another boy on Filbert Street when he was shot Thursday night around 10:30. Police don’t believe he was the intended target.

Police said after spotting the suspect he fired several shots at them. The two officers involved were not hurt.

They said the gun the suspect used was reported stolen from North Carolina.

The teen suspect is facing multiple charges including receiving stolen property. He is being held at the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center.


Lancaster, PA (WHTM) – Police are investigating a shooting in the city of Lancaster. According to Lancaster Online, an officer was shot at, but not injured.

The shooting happened shortly before 10:30 Wednesday night as police were responding to a report of another shooting.

When they arrived at East Filbert and South Mary Streets, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

According to Lancaster Online, police are still searching for a suspect.
