Dennis Green, Harrisburg native and former NFL coach, dies at age 67

Former NFL coach and Midstate native Dennis Green has died.

Green coached the Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals for a combined 13 seasons. In the 90s, he had the 9th best winning record in NFL history.

Green grew up in inner city Harrisburg, losing both of his parents by the age of 13.

He became a star halfback for the University of Iowa and participated in anti-racism program.

Green’s wife said he died from a heart attack overnight. He was 67-years-old.
