Police ID driver who died in Mont Alto crash

MONT ALTO, Pa. (WHTM) – Police have identified a man who died Wednesday after crashing into a house in Franklin County.

Luis A. DeLeon, 39, of York, failed to stop at the intersection of Park and Penn streets and crashed into a basement wall at 6 Penn Street, state police in Chambersburg said in a news release Thursday.

His passenger, Travis Meyshock, was flown to a hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained, police said.

Police said DeLeon was driving a white Ford Explorer that was seen traveling at a high rate of speed before failing to stop at two stop signs, the first at the intersection of Route 997 and Mont Alto.

No one was in the home at the time.
