Trump picks up more Pennsylvania delegate supporters

Donald Trump is picking up more support from Pennsylvania delegates at the Republican National Convention.

Robert Yates, a delegate from suburban Erie, said Tuesday that he’s leaning toward voting for Trump. Yates ran for delegate as a supporter of Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, and had still planned to cast his ballot for Cruz when he arrived in Cleveland on Sunday.

But he says there’s little point in voting for Cruz, since Cruz no longer seems interested in the nomination, and party unity is most important.

Gordon Denlinger, a delegate from Lancaster County, went to Cleveland uncommitted. But he now says he’ll support Donald Trump. He says he liked Trump’s selection of Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate.

The vast majority of Pennsylvania’s 71 delegates went to Cleveland pledged or committed to Trump.
