Home burglar caught in the act, Harrisburg police say

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A city man was arrested after police said he was caught in the act of burglarizing a home.

Rashaun Greene, 23, is charged with felony burglary and other counts in regards to a break-in Thursday morning in the 2200 block of North Fifth Street.

The resident called police after he returned home and found two open doors and a broken door window.

Investigators said Greene was found on the second floor, packing up the victim’s sneakers in a shopping bag, and he had gathered property at a collection point to remove it from the home.

He was placed under arrest and attempted to flee the officers as he was walked onto a front porch. He also tried to swallow a small baggie of suspected crack cocaine, police said.

He was jailed in Dauphin County Prison on $10,000 cash bail.
