Derry Township Police Department opens their doors for the community

HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) – The Derry Township Police Department opened their doors for the community Saturday.

It’s to get positive interaction with the police department and those who live in the area.

People toured the station, saw police vehicles, and talked to officers about their job of protecting and serving.

“A lot of things on the news are seen as negative reactions because of the nature of our jobs. Because of what we do, we’re going to have those negative interactions. So we try to do things to show people that we actually here to serve them”, said Derry Township Chief Garth Warner.

The Derry Township Police Department is celebrating 50 years of service in the community.
