Man injured in Lancaster shooting

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – Lancaster police are investigating after they said a 37-year-old was shot late Wednesday night in the city.

Officers responded around 11:20 p.m. to the 800 block of Sixth Street for a report of a shooting.

Upon arriving, officers found a Lancaster man shot in the chest and the hip.

The male was transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the shooting was not a random act and believe it began inside a residence in the 800 block of Sixth Street.

A physical altercation is also believed to have preceded the shooting It’s unclear if the suspect was known to the victim.
