HIA, Uber reach agreement for ride-hailing service at airport

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WHTM) – A new agreement should make it easier for travelers to get to and from Harrisburg International Airport.

HIA on Thursday announced an official partnership with Uber to offer an on-call, ride-hailing service at the airport.

Under terms of the agreement, Uber will run background checks on all prospective drivers and enforce a zero-tolerance policy on drug and alcohol use and unauthorized pickups.

The airport will have specified areas for Uber pickups and designate space in the parking garage for drivers to await calls. HIA will also collect a $2.90 fee for every airport pickup.
