HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police have arrested a city man who was wanted for a shooting incident that allegedly stemmed from a botched drug deal last week.
Malik A. Jackson, 19, was arrested Thursday after police said they saw him smoking marijuana with a friend on a porch in the 2400 block of Reel Street. Jackson fled inside, and as officers surrounded the home they heard the sound of breaking glass. The officers found him in an adjoining home after Jackson broke in through a third-floor window, according to charging documents.
Jackson was additionally charged with drug offenses, criminal trespass, flight to avoid apprehension, and criminal mischief. Bail at Dauphin County Prison was set at $50,000.
Authorities had been looking for Jackson since Friday when they say he chased down two women he accused of stealing drugs.
He pushed one woman to the ground in the 2100 Block of Green Street, hit her in the head and face, and made her strip to prove she hadn’t taken the drugs, police said.
He shot at the other woman before assaulting her in the 200 Block of Woodbine Street, police said.
In that case, police charged him with attempted homicide, robbery, aggravated assault, simple assault, firearms offenses, recklessly endangering, and criminal mischief.
Bail is set at $1 million.
