Still unclear if woman who called 911, said she shot husband, will face charges

PALMYRA, Pa. (WHTM) – Crime scene tape remained at an entrance to an apartment above the Horseshoe Pike Gun Shop on Monday.

According to Lebanon County District Attorney Dave Arnold, the South Londonderry Township apartment is where Kelly Weinhold shot her husband, 25-year-old David Urban, early Sunday.

“I was a little shocked actually,” Jessica Burian, who lives near the gun shop, said. “You are not expecting something like to happen close to you.”

Police were dispatched to the apartment just before 1 a.m. and found Urban had been shot. He was rushed to Penn State Hershey Medical Center where he died.

As of Monday afternoon, it remained unclear if Weinhold would face any charges, which had Burian confused.

“I mean obviously (Weinhold) confessed to it,” Burian told ABC 27 News. “She called them and said I did it. Why isn’t something being done?”

Burian said she also felt sad about the case considering Urban lost his life.

“It’s very sad,” she said.

Investigators said the gun shop is not connected to the shooting.

An autopsy is scheduled Tuesday.
