Repeat sex offender sentenced for recorded sex abuse of teen

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A Lancaster County man with a previous child sex abuse conviction is now facing up to 15 years in prison for the sexual abuse of a 17-year-old girl.

Dennis E. Mowday, 61, of Willow Street, pleaded guilty to the sexual abuse, some of which was filmed, according to authorities.

Judge Dennis Reinaker ordered Mowday to serve 4 ½ to 15 years in prison.

Mowday’s sentence was part of a plea agreement that also includes five years of probation and a lifetime registration under Megan’s Law.

Investigators learned about Mowday’s recent crimes after his employer found evidence among his belongings that he was abusing a girl.

In 1995, Mowday was convicted of child sex abuse.
