Man arrested for Middletown home burglaries

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (WHTM) – Police say alert citizens helped them to arrest a man for his role in several home burglaries.

Michael_DiehlMichael C. Diehl, 22, is accused of an attempted burglary in the 1000 block of Cypress Street and a home burglary in which more than a thousand dollars worth of property was stolen in the 1000 block of Plane Street, Middletown police said.

Police said one resident’s tip led them to where Diehl was staying and they recovered stolen property. They said another resident reviewed his security system after learning of the burglary and saw Diehl attempting to break into a neighbor’s house.

Diehl has a Baltimore, Maryland address but was staying locally in the 1100 block of Cypress Street. He is charged with two counts of burglary, two drug-related charges, and false ID to law enforcement.
