Lancaster man arrested for robbery, fleeing police with infant son

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A city man was arrested after police say he robbed a pizza delivery and fled from officers with his 10-month-old son in his car.

Adrian Manuel Santiago, 33, pushed and punched the delivery man Monday night as they argued over the credit card he attempted to use for payment, police said. When the delivery man fell and dropped the order, Santiago allegedly used a knife to puncture two of his tires and returned to his home without paying for the food.

Several minutes later, after Santiago left the home with his child, police say he tried to elude responding officers. His infant son, they said, was not buckled into the car safety seat and the seat was not buckled to the car.

The child was turned over to his mother.

Santiago is charged with robbery, theft by unlawful taking, fleeing and eluding, endangering the welfare of a child, and several other charges. Police said he also was found in possession of marijuana and a marijuana pipe.
