Man found dead at recycling center arrived in York County days earlier, police say

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – A western Pennsylvania man found dead at the Penn Waste Recycling Facility had arrived in York County several days earlier, police said Monday.

Investigators are looking for anyone who may have had contact with 59-year-old Randall Rich in the days before June 11, when his body was found in a recycling container by employees sorting recyclables at the Manchester Township facility.

The cause of his death has not been determined. An autopsy was completed last week, but the cause and manner of death are pending additional tests that could take up to three months.

Rich’s last-known address is in Butler, but police say he didn’t live there during the two weeks before his death.

Anyone who spoke to him in York County is asked to call Northern York County Regional police at 717-292-3647.
